I already have the m-sport steering wheel with the round airbag...do you think I could pull it from my current steering wheel and install it in the M5 wheel?

Would the M5 wheel fit without any complications? I've been thinking of doing the paddle retrofit in my ride!

What make year model is your E60? Pre or post 09/2005? The airbags can be retrofited to the SW if it does not match the make year model category of the SW. I am currently trying to work with another member on how this can be done. He is providing me steps to get the retrofit of a pre 09/2005 SW mated with a post 09/2005 airbag.

For your second question, the post M5 SW can fit on both types pre or post, but if your car is a pre, then modification may be needed.

I have one very, very rare M5 steering wheel. It came off of a pre 09/2005 M5. I was informed that even dealers can't get these. Maybe because its discontinued. If your car is pre this would work with out any modifications. The other wheel is on hold. It is post 09/2005.

I have received one of the M-Sport wheels. It is for pre 09/2005. The condiditon was not as good as I expected it to be in, but its not bad at all. The M trim is slightly peeled on the sides. The volume up button is partly faded. You will need a mounting plate for this steering wheel. Not an expensive part. You can see it HERE. It's # 2, and is listed for $28.74. Garry Romani @ BMW of RI can source you this part with a 25% discount if your in the US.

I am asking $350 Shipped.

Here are the pics.
