Do you have Logic 7? You only need the black connector piece (actually 2 pieces) if you have Logic 7. I have them if you need them. Just PM me.

Hey,

I'm probably gonna sound like a real noob, but can you explain to me exactly what this cable does? I've read through the entire thread and still don't know. I have a 2007 530i with a 3.5mm AUX in on the rear console (just like most others I'm sure). So what's the big deal about this cable? Thanks in advance.

This cable does exactly what you already have installed in the rear console. The Aux In cable is an option to install, and when all said and done is a few hundred for the dealership to complete.
