If anyone knows anyone looking for a perfect condition dashboard from a 2007 550i with no HUD and with a hole for pushbutton start - I have one sitting in my living room.

I do not know what this is worth, but I can tell you it is without a flaw that I can find. It is a fairly easy swap - so if the sun is making your passenger side airbag lines show, or if you are fixing up a salvage title, please come pick this up.

I can drop it off in LA/OC.

Make an offer!

I can't figure out how to post pics, but maybe today is a good day to learn.

All together the conversion cost me about $1000 not including the windshield (I got a great deal) which I will be hunting down starting today. The labor took me pretty much all day because you have to take everything from the dash out. Then you have to run cables to the CAS, the trunk and tap into the MOST. Once you do all that, the fun is no where near over because you have to aim the thing - and not knowing what to look for makes the mounting/aiming process an ordeal.

I had to code option $610 to my car and then activate HUD through the CAPPL.

You'd be surprised how doable this retrofit is. BMW went with the same theme with the dashboard as they do their bumpers. It is merely a cover surrounding an elaborate framework of reinforcement.

I'd love to get more information. I've been collecting HUD parts for me E63 also. As far I've seen it is very much doable but still missing some parts:

- HUD + surroundings; in place
- Windscreen; in place
- Dash; do you really need another one or can it it be cut nicely as well with a specific tool like dremel for instance?
- need wiring + light switch

the parts are interchangeable in the E60/1 - E63/4 family except for the dash and HUD unit.

If you can help with more information it will be appreciated very very much ....

Thx

Where in Europe are you? I will be there for the next 3 months for work.

Send me an email to itschase@gmail.com and I can walk you through the process. I won't claim to be an expert as I got a TON of info from people on this forum - but the install process is still fresh in my mind.

If you have the skill - and I am sure I don't. Others have done this successfully though.
