BMW Fails to honor the warranty
I own BMW X 5, 2010. The anti glare of the navigation screen was slowly disappearing in the last two years.About 25% of anti glare was removed during normal cleaning using micro fabric most in drinking water in the last two years.
When in May 2013, I explained the above problem to a BMW Car dealership in Richmond ,BC, I was told that it is caused by "external influences" and it is not a manufacturing defect.
I requested the Maintenance Manager and the GM of the car dealership to define the meaning of "EXTERNAL INFLUENCES" and got no reply despite of my numerous e-mail on this subject.
Than I went to another BMW dealership in Vancouver,Canad, and the Maintenance Manager/Shop Foreman removed the rest of the anti glare during the cleaning of my navigation screen.
After that I went to the third BMW car dealership, and they advised me that it is a manufacturing defect and as such should be replaced under the 4 years BMW warranty.
They got hold of BMW Canada ,explained the problem and requested the permission to replace the navigation scree.
I was advised by the GM of this BMW car dealership that they were told by BMW Canada: DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN THIS CASE,STAY AWAY:
Has anyone else had a similar problem as I described above?
