Rudy, how large is the vpc in the S.C. factory?? Back in December, when I was tracking the shipment of my car, I called what seemed like a thousand people trying to find out where the VPC? for the port of Charleston is.? I talked to several people in different departments at the factory, and no one, not one single person knew what the VPC was or where it was located.? Two even said there was certainly nothing like that at the plant.? Go figure.

That's incredible. You mean you actually were talking to people at the Spartanburg factory and they didn't know about the VPC? I can't say how big or how small it is compared to other VPCs but it was part of the tour and explained in detail. I mean, you're walking through a factory that makes only Z4s and X5s and all of a sudden you're in an area that has brand new 7s, 5s, 3s, Minis, etc. How could you work there and not see that? Bizarre!

I was just as amazed as you. Honest to God, first I called the main plant number and asked where the Vehicle processing center was, and the reaction was total ignorance of the concept. I then was put through to someone who actually had an engineering-type job within the factory, and the story was the same. I even explained what the concept was, you know, preparing cars from the port for shipment to dealers...same deal. I finally gave up. One thing's for sure- they were quick. The car arrived at the port on Wednesday 12/29, and they had it sitting at the dealer in Pittsburgh on Fri., 12/31, so someone, somewhere, was working at the VPC, proof of it's existence.

Mine is there NOW. That was a very cool post. I would love to visit. Anyway, my Dealer said that they are backed up with multiple ships arriving in last week, and anticipate to receive her by saturday. Going to Vegas for the weekend (Company all expense paid @ Bellagio ), so looks like a few more excruciating waiting days until I will take delivery.

US version can be done manually and sticking up like the one in the picture. US are different from all other countries, you know.

well, the 7 has it's mirror folded up, but the 5 seems to be tucked in... have you tried it on yours?

i'm afraid it might break if i try and fold it manually... would be great for tight parking spots.
