(It's funny because it just barely beat out the E-class and when you look at the individual scores (by category) it's hard to figure out why it won -- could the interior be the only reason?

I had an in-law who just recently bought an Acura TL Type-S make a snide comment to me saying, "I heard iDrive sucks. That's why I didn't buy a 3-series." I just looked at him and shook my head.
As far as not enough cabin storage space... did he not have enough room for the 4th hooker?

U.S. News took an interesting approach ... scoring the reviews of these cars.
In the end, it's clear that level of recommendations / overall impressions about the E60 by respected automotive critics is that the E60 is much more than the sum of its parts (the individual scores Rudy mentions).
Best part ... the Mercedes Benz E-Class barely outscores the Cadillac DTS.
