I noticed that about the tread as well, since I just put PS2's on my car last week. I'd be curious to hear about them as well. So many horror stories with various RFTs, even from different makers. Wonder if Michelin's will be any better?
Here's a better link: PS2RFT But I'm sticking with my non-RFT's PS2

Here's a pdf-file (in German) about the new ZP. Noticeable is that they do not recommend a staggered setup (different dimensions front and back)!!

IMHO....BMW should go back to Michelin PS2s for all cars with sport package as it did in the past and get tid of the RFTs ro make them an option at ordering time at least for the E60s since we have a spare tire

Can't see the bit about staggered. I think they mean mixing RFT and non-RFT? (Von einer Misch-bereifung r?t MICHELIN ab.)

RFT - Tire test in German Magazine Sport Auto-crw_6309.jpg
My Good Years RFT had no issues, was not loud and performed well even at high speeds no matter if in wet or dry, but they will go too as bigger (FA 245/30 ZR 20 / RA 285/25 ZR 20)will come, normal tires - maybe have to roll rear but still that will be a difference after Summer.

I have an 03 m5 and the 04 530i............ both of which came with run flat tires.......... both Dunlop's..................... on the 03 M5 I replace them with Michelin sport PS2s.......... on the 04 530i I. just replaced them with the Goodyear eagle Formula One DS G3s............... on the M5 the only difficulty with running non-run flat tires is the fact that there's no spare of any description whereas on the 04 530 there's at least a temporary spare. I think the significant issue for me was at the M5 driving school they didn't use the run flat tires but rather used the Michelin pilot sport tires. I figured if it was good enough for the M5 driving school it was good enough for me and haven't looked back since. The performance, ride quality and tread life duration are vastly superior to the original equipment runflat's. The report from the German magazine auto sport confirms what I have known and enjoyed for the past couple years. With respect to the Goodyear eagle Formula One DS G3s my initial impression is that they are superior to the Michelin sport PS2s............... a mega wow!!!!!!!!!!................. great job, Goodyear!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm leaning towards the Goodyear F1 GS-D3.
Me too!

My Dunlop RF's are very slippery on wet.

Of all tests I read (3-4) PS2's are NOT good in wet conditions.

The RF's stink!

My PS2's definitely prefer a nice warm day but wet performance is 'ok'. I toyed with the idea of F1's but I never go mad in the wet so preferred the ultimate dry performance...

OK, you could be right there! You know they say "Mischbereifung" about staggered too. But in this case they probably mean just as you say...otherwise it would be strange.

In dry conditions PS2's are the best!

But in the UK as overhere the sun doesn't shine that much...
