My Ride: 2005 545i, SilverGray, Black Leather, Step, Sport, Cold Weather, Premium Sound, Heated Rear Seats, Folding Rear Seats.
The style discussion heats up again with new offerings from the Japanese. I originally was not a huge fan of the E60 design, but it has grown on me and now I find it aggressive, fresh and modern. The Lexus and M45 look ...bla bla bla.

Yeah, interesting numbers. Good stuff. I'm not enamored with any of the Infiniti stuff, inside or out. Also, that M45 has 19" wheels - I wonder what the BMW skidpad figures would have been on larger more aggressive rubber.

The Lexus has more aggressive lines; love the front and the lines down the side of the car, but it still doesn't compared to a 5. The 5 has serious presence, especially when viewed from the rear.

Drove the M45, it was sporty in the same way that Sony is high-end audio. Same with the GS.

Nissan Maxima's in different dress will never beat out an e60 or any BMW for that matter. Simply put. the editors of those publications will never relax until they put idrive and Bangle to their grave! And after they are done bashing Bangle and idrive, a while later they will give him an award(happened) and praise idrive(not far from it; just wait till it becomes more mainstream on all autos)... go figure

[/quote]0-60 in 5.2, and the quarter mile in 13.7 @ 104.0 - with an automatic!! These are the best numbers I've seen in any road test.
Very, very impressive.

If the 545 came in second, by how many points did it lose by?? Wonder when the new 550 comes out what placement they will give it!

I will disagree on M45. I am about to take delivery of the M45 (replacement for my soon to be departed E500).
M45 for its price is actually a very capable car. Better interior material than standard E60. The handling and steering response is only a minor step off of the 545i. But powertrain is just as smooth as the BMW.
The M45 is no GS430. It's almost a 100% BMW clone (in some area its actually better).
