Thumbs down

Hey everyone, does anyone have the June 2006 issue of Roundel? I am looking for the maintenance schedule from that issue, specifically on how it pertains to the Automatic Transmition Fluid (ATF)

Anyone with access to this article please chime in!
Thanks

I saw this post by Mr. PC back in June of 2006...

"Some interesting news in the June 2006 Roundel (Magazine of the BMW CCA), p. 42: A former BMW dealer tech reports that BMW's policy on scheduled maintenance allows slightly early service: 2,000 miles before oil change, 4,000 miles before brake service, oxy sensor, 4 months before brake fluid and coolant, 4,000 mi before 100,000 for spark plugs and ATF fluid. So get that ATF and sparks done before 100,000 - even a little after and they may deny free services"

I have the issue right here but I can't seem to find what you're looking for. Any other hints?

The article was about Gateway Tech, an annual tech seminar for BMW CCA members. One of the speakers was a BMW Master Technician. Dave Mason (pp. 41-42) who suggested members establish a good relationship with the service advisor/manager. According to Mason, BMW allows owners to get scheduled maintenance service slightly earlier than "needed" e.g. 2,000 miles before indicated oil serivice, as quoted above. I didn't see a maintenance schedule per se.

I had the right issue but having page numbers 41-42 surely helps out a bunch...

Between HOMEP1 and E11142860, they pretty much quoted the entire section of the magazine.

Refer to the spring 2006 issue of "Fast Times" which is the newsletter of "Bavarian autosport" (BavAuto.com) they have a detailed maintenance schedual there. Also, in the winter 2008 newsletter they have an even more detailed schedual (model & year specific) that shows when everything should be changed. It CERTAINLY answered alot of questions for me.
