An interesting read, but I still wonder where, in a line of cars that includes a 5 series (wagon too), 6 series, 7 series, X5, and X6, are the sales going to come from? There seems to be TOO MUCH overlap and that will only cannibalize BMW's sales of other models!

My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
We certainly now know what the front fascia of the F10 will look like and I think it is SOOOOOOOO much better than the new 7. As for where it fits in the portfolio I would say it depends how they price it VS the Touring. Remember the Chrysler Pacifica ????????

It's about the same size as the new 7-series, but isn't as spacey as the up coming F11 Touring.
The new F10 will be a bit smaller and a good competition the new XF Jag.
BMW must think, that X6 fans will need a large car and that the 5-series GT is, but not a 4x4.
At these energy saving times, I'm afraid that BMW's plans are emphasized on US and Chinese markets.
Yes mostly Chinese, they have soon more money than the Americans and they love long wheel base cars.
Actually the Chinese are financing the whole US economy right now...

x6 and x5 - one or the other.
bmw could get rid of low end 3 series and lower end 5 series.
i know they wouldnt do this but my thoughts on the 3 series is why get a sedan? if you want a sedan get the 5. 3 series sedans could go as well.
