Car & Driver Review for BMW 530i

Hey, any comments on the recent C/D review of the 530i? I was shocked/disappointed to see that they ranked this car in 6th place out of 8 java script:emoticon('

I bought a 545i, but the car I testdrove the most was a 530i, and I can tell you it certainly performed a lot better than the Acura or the Mercedes or even the Audi and the Lexus (although I drove earlier models of the last two cars). I didn't bother with the Caddy or the Jag, and was not really aware of the Infinity.
Their main complaint was the "puny engine" of the 530i --- oh, well, I wish they had made an apples to apples comparison and used the 545i in the comparison test. Nonetheless, I'm surprised that the overall fit and finish, as well as drive quality of the 530i didn't put it in close to first place!

Read it briefly... How can they compare 4+ liter engines cars (Cad CTS, Jag S 4.2, INF M45, Audi 4.2 etc..) to a 530 with a 6 Cyl 3 liter engine ??
If they wanted to stay within the price range they could have taken a (fictional) base 545i to compare. besides, taking in consideration the great lease offers they have on the 545 at the moment, it would have been the cheapest one in the bunch as well...
