In Bimmer issue #48, the E60 was bad mouthed a little bit. I replied with various complaints about the article. To my amazement they printed my response! If you pick it up it is the May 2005 issue under Letters with the heading: Misled by Miller.
Anyway, I was pretty excited to see it in there.

Or at least post the text of the letter (since you own the rights to it...)
Congrats kigerka!
(Speaking of getting letters published -- I think it's time that someone write a letter to Roundel at least letting them know this site exists. I hate it when I see a Roundel article mentioning the buzz on RF about an issue or car...)

I agree. The BMW bashing (in particluar the E 60) in Roundel is becoming unbearable. Nobody has anything good to say about new BMWs in there.

The E60 takes a beating there because all of us are here. I say we write letters in praise of the E60 (and the wonderful E60.net resource) to see what happens.
I think they try to print each letter they receive so it's up to us to find the time to send one...

They may try and print all the letters they receive, but the bias of the staff comes through loud and clear! I don't expect them to blindly accept everything the BMW does, but the letters (and I sorry Rudy, I believe that the staff bias is reflected in the letters published) and articles are never ending. I think they made their point about how they feel about Bangle's designs almost two years ago now. Yet they feel the need to keep rehashing it. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if that is what the BMWCCA has to offer, then it has nothing to offer me.

I agree with you kscarrol -- By writing letters, I didn't mean to say we'd change the minds of the staff (and I wasn't trying to defend them in any way).
I'm simply thinking that they do print an abundance of letters so why not give them a different perspective? By that I mean -- an owner's perspective...

I just noticed that Pennetta has an letter in the April 2005 Roundel praising the SMG on his E60. Also, there is a letter called "Get over it, you brats" telling the "spoiled brat" Bangle bashers to "get over it!"
After flipping through the magazine quickly, there is a side-bar article about active steering on the E90 and they say it's now something they like...

They can bash or hate all they want on the E60 but all the cars are going this way. The talk will die down soon now that the E90 is out. Soon it will be the best thing made!
When I get home tonight I will scan my reply.
