Yum! I like it.

Aside from a few derivative elements that are no doubt the fault of the artist who produced this rendering - rather than actual design elements that will make it to production - specifically, the Audiness of the outside lines of the brake ducts in the front bumper, headlights a la Hyundai Sonata and Acura TL exhaust to name a few - it is a very convincing strategy. Of course, it will probably be priced in the 6 figures (it being a 6 series and all), so it still is not a convincing business model. But a cute idea nonetheless...

Not sure about those angel eyes, but otherwise, it looks hot to me!

I prefer this design much much better than looking at the new F10...

The 4 door variant may be BMW's way of getting 5 series owners to upgrade.

To me, it looks like a copy of MB's strategy with the CLS. Fancier sheetmetal but same basic underpinnings as the "plain jane" mid-sized sedan = a nice premium on the price and more profit.
