So now your saying i am the most controvercial (spelled?) member of this board well i suppose i am.

Anyways the m6/6 series as a whole are the high end gt/coupe/convertible models IMO
Stop replying to me on subject regarding yourself.
Yes i agree, but imo those are simply different classes. Is more the e60 a high end class then the e90?

you answer your own question! price and bracket wise the e60 is above the e90.

But on top are 6series/7series and ///m cars (not z4m s though)

just re-edited the LAST post. I wont bother writing anything, read m5board.com the z4m
is not a 100% M car. Go figure it out, its just not as refined as the m3/m5/m6 in many terms.

Make me understand. Why? Why is not as refined as the m3 let's say.
It has the same engine, it has m suspenion, it has similar if not the same gearbox, m wheels, m body kit...what M i missing?

1) Price. Especially with the new v8 m3 costing similar money to RS4.
2) Open top with compromised rigidity (and yes i dont think they should make m6 cabrio)
3) www.m5board.com

The Z was never the driver's car it should have been, no thanks to its 10-year old rear suspension design. It ended up being not much more than an exercise in good marketing - including a guest appearance from none other than James Bond - and a demonstration of what companies can get away with if they have the right image and badge. Panned almost universally by the motoring press and hardcore enthusiasts, even the Z M couldn't reinstate the shine.

The Z3 was a parts car, no doubt about it. The Z4 isn't.

To answer your points:

1) Price has nothing to do with what makes a car and "M" car. The M cars are about the driving experience and the performance they offer. A Z4-based M Coupe will take an M3 anyday. I expect we will see the same V* motor that will go into the E90 M3 make its way into the Z4-based car. This happened with the S50 and S54 motors. It may lag but it will almost certainly happen if for no other reason than BMW does need to keep up with cars like the SLK 55 when it becomes the SLK 63.

2) The rigidity of the open-top Z4 exceeds that of many previous coupe and sedan M cars. To say that becuase it is a roadster that it isn't a real M car is ridiculous. The rigidity of the Z4-base M Coupe may very well exceed that of every other current BMW including the M3, M5, and M6. I don't know that it does because I haven't seen the number for those cars (the Z4 numbers have been posted on Bimmerfest) but it wouldn't surprise me.

3) Comments on the M5 board are hardly anything more than an opinion just as your and my comments are nothing more than opinions. In the end the buyers will decide and BMW/M will build what are the "M" cars. Not you, not me, not some board.

Anyway I'm done, no one should bother to reply. This forum is heading the way of Roadfly, and that's not a good thing.

So an M3 convertible isn't an M car? Someone tell the skunkworks, because some unscrupulous dealers are sticking M stickers on 3 series convertibles and selling them for $20k over sticker...

This balloonhead is a total keyboard jockey who doesn't get any play from chicks, even though he thinks he should, given his mommy and daddy's money, sooo he fills his time with other activities that allow him to thump his chest. This is one of them.

this clown acts like he is the end all be all of automotive knowledge. I just sit back and laugh most of the time..but enough is enough.

I understand why these folks snap...They've had enough of his foolishness. He is bringing the board down.

Tell me that if this troll wasn't here, there would still be bickering like we've seen.

If he were my kid, I'd backhand him so hard that it'd knock a few teeth loose. All that can be done online is to chastise him, unfortunately that gives him more fuel. Attention=fuel. Remember the no-chick-getting thing I mentioned before? Buy the kid a supply of hand lotion and a roll of paper towels and send him on his way...Let him pay attention to the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue...

matter of opinion. I believe that the only issue that bmw really got down to address with the Z4 was the suspension

i nevertheless hope that they do read the boards and take notice of what people want from their cars
