i've been reading the material on the web
so far it seems the M coupe (Z4) will only come as a stick shift (manual)

anyone knows if SMG is being offered - given that it is a ///M car

Greg says no SMG ever on the z4m or z4m coupe....

SMG reserved for high end models aka m5/m6/550i

I kinda don't agree with this...high end models...yeah m5, m6, current m3 but for sure 550i or 540i aren't high end models. The m5 is a high end model to those. And if M z4 is not a high end model i dunno what is...

z4m is a lower model (price wise) than a 550i

the 530i (german spec) and 550i have smg, since the gearbox was already in place for those two models. They will soon be dropped as an option. the e90 does NOT have smg.

In theory this is what should happen:

///m5 and ///m6 with smg3. (manual? maybe)
///m3 will hopefully have a dual cluctch transmission, but if not ready it will still carry the smg3 (manual? maybe)

the z4m and z4m coupe are technically not 100% ///m cars, as were the previous z3 incarnations. Thus they will not get the smg, nor will they get an Auto box.

All other bmws will be offered with either/or manual or auto

Folks,

I'm a BMW dealer and I get all the latest product updates via email from BMWNA's Distribution and Product Development departments, and I have yet to hear or see anything that makes it seem like we're getting SMG for the e90, any time soon. Everything that I've read has indicated that it was initially planned (before the official release), but after that they made the decision that it would not be offered. All of the info that you've posted (E90 booklet, owner's manual) were put together before the car was launched and before the decision was made to not offer SMG.

Unless someone has some new information that I don't have, I'm going to have to say that SMG is not going to happen at this time, at least not for the remainder of MY06.

I'm curious as to why you say this.

Is there any 0-100 times (mph) on the Z4M yet? or flexibility? like 50-70 etc?

and you are saying that i started this ?
I'm not saying who started it. When you look at it (form an impartial point of view) sexyus started it...but you have to go deeper to know who or how and when it started. I don't care who started it.
I have to say only this that i don't agree that the M z4 is not a high end model. That's all.
