My Ride: 2005 BMW 330i Orient Blue exterior Beigh leather interior with Wood trim, Premium package, Steptronic auto, Xenon headlights.
If you feel some play in your steering is there a fix for it? If so how is it fixed. I increased the tire pressure in my car to 38 front 42 rear but i still feel some shimmy play in the steering wheel after 55mph. I had the front control/thrust arms replaced with new bushings (every OEM BMW) and it got better but i still have that feeling of a slight shimmy and i can feel the tires spin as i drive at higher speeds. I am wondering if maybe something in the steering column is lose or has some play in it for my E39 to have this feeling/shimmy. car is a 2001 E39 530i with 45,700 miles. PS I also have new front rotors and breakpads, new OEM 16" BMW E39 rims, new 2nd set of Michelin tires road force balanced plenty of times. as well as my new front thrust arms with new Bushings, every thing is OEM.

check EVERYTHING that has to do with steering links/arms, rods, evverything
on my e34, (on all e34s) the problem time after time was either hub-centric discs not fitted correctly, orthe suspension bushings. First check the Thrust Arm Bushing...that was the main casue of the shimmy.. other than that, it should be a time for new bushings on your car anyway, so just order a performance set, and go drive it, hard!
hope this worx for your shimmy!
