I think they're looking at a number of different sizes... That one looks like it could be based on the 1 or 3-series? Could be very popular in Europe as we don't really have the room for R class motors

I wish BMW would hurry up because I'd buy that!

fotoshop shure looks nice, but imagine this car (derivate of 1-series? look at lower door design) beiing put more realistic on 15" wheels: takes a whole lot of the atraction out of it; beside that: if it where to be based on let's say the 5-series - which would make it an R-class competitor - who would buy it? benz for sure cannot find anyone to buy it's R.

You know why... they're practically giving them away... with a TON of incentives... its not a big seller on its own... at least not here in CA...

G class is a complete chrysler design, it's just totally ugly inside out. I wish G and sportvan is not a direct comparison.

This sportVan concept looks to have lower body height and much more aerodynamic. it seems smaller then a Van and a mix breed of sport wagon with shorter engine bay. it is quite popular in japanese auto design recently such as toyota matrix, mazda cx and honda Fit. I like it because it has handling and the room that I need, and if it is coming from BMW... I think it would be awesome!!

Again G is fugly, and straight up an expensive Van for moms, yet I would NOT let my mom to buy it.

BMW has produced several one offs that the Board has had a look at to decide whether to give the project a Go or No Go. One of the Go's is the RaumFunktionellesKonzept - RFK (Space Functional Concept) that is planned to be presented 2008 for sale in 2009. It will be built on the 5-series (dunno if that means E60 or F10) and is supposed to be sporty, dynamic and blablabla, you know - a "true BMW". No production ready cars are out on the streets, so for now it's only a guessing game how it will look.

But BMW has publicly acknowledge the existence of the car in an interview in the German auto-motor-und-sport, and that's how I got to know about it, so probably we'll see more about that car in the autumn, albeit in different guises.

To make it even more complex, BMW has also said they are working on a X6, ie an X5 but with the body of a coupe. So whether this car is an artist's impression of the RFK or the X6 is another guessing game!
