Oh yeah, that would be perfect timing for a back country road trip (gotta test it right?)

Actually there are insane deals out there on hard-top convertible M3's.
The driving experience of the M3 is 110% better than the Z4.

Yes, but only if you prefer the ride of a well balanced sports coupe to a traditional roadster. With a design that puts the driver nearly over the rear wheels, the Z4 has a raw, roller coaster like ride that makes you feel like you're riding on the tail end of a bottle rocket. The well refined M3 is purposefully designed to eliminate not duplicate this feel. Some love it, others hate it. It's a matter of personal choice. The new Z4 is on my next car wish list, right behind the 997 turbo.

Should I get a new brother for the 550i?
I've liked the X3 for the 3 years but am thinking about getting something different. My X3 lease is up in 2 weeks. I really like the new Z4. I first drove the 3.0 to keep the payment down but now that they've made the lease rates more attractive, I test drove the 3.5 with the DCT. Now I know why folks like the 3.0 TT. Especially in the relatively light weight Z4, with the DCT, its got some kick, which was missing in the 3.0.

2006 BMW X3
Well, my 550i became a big brother 2pm this afternoon. Its a 2009 BMW Z4 Sdrive 35i, 3450 lbs, and 300hp. It may not have the "stature" or raw feel of an ///M but its a quick little car, and quite fun to drive. It's also comfortable, very well equiped, and very well appointed. It will do fine as a daily driver as well as the weekend/mountains fun car.
The goodies are Sapphire Black exterior, Exclusive Ivory Nappa Leather interior, the 7spd DCT, Premium Pkg, Sport Pkg, 19in. wheels, Cold Weather, Premium Sound, Nav, Sat radio, PDC, & CA. Its a lot more than I intended to spend on a 2nd car but I got a great deal. Its a lower monthly payment than a quote on a moderately equiped 3.0 just 2 weeks ago.
I'll post my impressions once I drive it more. It seems everywhere I went today, I followed someone 5 under the limit, or passed a sheriff.

$3k more and you can get a M3, not to mention the discounts. I just don't get the high msrp on the Z4.
"designed by women, for women"
Still a nice looking vehicle, congrats!
