Malcolm,
Depends upon your requirements but I'd say go for the E90. Having owned an E60 530d before this car for 18 months I have to say that the E90 has better build quality, a nicer interior (depending upon how you spec it), no i-drive glitches, more agile and sporty handling and ..... I'll be barred for this heresy...... better looks IMHO
It is truly a superb car with astonishing performance for a four pot diesel.

SinsisterJ,
Thanks for the comments about the 3. Most people who see it make positive remarks about it and love the overall look.
The 7 series belongs to my dad. He collected it in early February so it is one of the last of the pre-facelift cars. It's a 730d Sport in Titanium with privacy glass and a few other toys.

My Ride: GONE BUT NOT FOGOTTEN : 530d SE Auto : Titanium Grey / Anthracite Leather, Poplar Trim, 18in 123 Style Alloys, Adaptive Bi-Xenons, Business Nav, Hi-Fi Speaker Package, Heated seats, Split-Fold Rear Seats
LR DISCO 3 HSE with everything (including 3 kids)
Firstly - nice car. Having seen one in the flesh I must admit I agree with most of your comments (esp. build quality).
What is puzzling me right now is the fact that I have only seen one one the road (and this was heading out of the dealers). I would have expected to have spotted quite a few by now. Where are they all ?

I've created a gallery with pics of my new car http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=module...album&album=238
It is a 320dSE in Titanium silver with lemon dakota leather, auto, aluminium trim, pro-nav, style 158 17" alloys, xenons, sports seats, sports steering wheel, sports suspension, privacy glass and a whole load of other stuff. I've put the chrome grilles on the front from the 325i/330i which makes a huge difference IMHO.
I have to say I am really enjoying driving this car which I'm going to have for the next 3 or 4 months. It feels taughter than my E60 530d did and is definately quieter. I'm seriously thinking about a 335d Sport as a possible next car after having this.

for passanger ok, behind me -the driver-it is large enough-but for the driver I set Yes all down the sport seats almost hit the ceiling...
the trunk is good for 1 person or for a picnic.
So we go for our 530d and get it 255hp and 580Nm and a nice big enough car.
the quality is matter of taste if I wamt sg, extremly nice would go for an L Bentley limo
But CONGRATS nice rides
go for Cayenne-you have the Porsche to get the tickets

ats,
What are you trying to get in the trunk?? The opening on the E90 is smaller than the E60 but there is a lot of room in there.
Marty,
It will take a while for there to be a lot of E90's on the road in the UK. I had one of the first E60's and it was great driving around for 3 or 4 months without seeing many others on the road. Look how many there are now It's got to the point where you are actually looking for rare colours such as Oxford green or Olivin as there are so many E60's on UK roads. I currently attract more attention in the E90 in terms of interested looks from other road users than I ever did in the E60, not that I really enjoy or want people staring at the car. It's just the novelty factor of spying a new model on the road and it quickly wears off here. I have a friend who drives a Vectra SRi Cdt and that is a rarer sight on the roads these days. He keeps reminding me that he has a rare car... still wouldn't contemplate swapping with him though..not even for a day

Isuk, how's the 3er doing?
I'm leaning towards trading on a 320d or a 330d (released after September)
I wonder how much of a difference in performance I should expect?

What are you trying to get in the trunk?? The opening on the E90 is smaller than the E60 but there is a lot of room in there.
Marty,
It will take a while for there to be a lot of E90's on the road in the UK. I had one of the first E60's and it was great driving around for 3 or 4 months without seeing many others on the road. Look how many there are now? ? It's got to the point where you are actually looking for rare colours such as Oxford green or Olivin as there are so many E60's on UK roads. He keeps reminding me that he has a rare car... still wouldn't contemplate swapping with him though..not even for a day?
