You know what i would do amongst other things if i had to decide anything about the new M3? I would really give it a 10 000 rpm tacho ala RX-8, but nothing to do with the washing machine engine. The redline can be from 8500rpms or so but 10 would be a real peach to see it on the dash. Just for effects 
The new V8 should at least be more rev friendly than the V10 bigger brother.

The pics in CAR magazine are photoshops. This recent shot of a lighltly disguised test car shows a very different rear design which looks more likely to be the production ready version.
