My Ride: 1) 1999 750iL E38 (Not the Sport Version), family's ride, based in HK. Wish it had B6/B7 armour, but doesn't.. 2) 2001 330xi E46 for the snowy winters. Steptronic, black, no sport package (was unavailable back then), std. multispoke rims. 3) Looking to acquire a BMW 3.0 CSL Series-3

Does anyone know if BMW is going to build a new version of the L7? I loved the 750iL based L7. They were lengthened slightly between the front and rear doors. It wasn't lengthened enough to have rear-facing jumpseats, but the increased length allowed for a full multimedia interior. Only a few were built each year. The car was similar to the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur w/ Division.

I still like the 750iL better than the 760Li so naturally I don't think a new L7 would look as good as the old one. I'm not enamoured with the new design of the current and upcoming BMWs.

I really dislike the front-end of the E65, the rear I don't mind as much. The difference between the E38 and E65 that I dislike the most is the body shape when viewed from the side angle. I prefer the more square E38, but it's just personal preference.. I still would like to see a new L7 model based on E65 though I think the E65 is well, unattractive..

Yes, the L7 is such an ultra rare car so it is only fitting that BMW builds a new version of it based on the new E65. I have seen coachbuilt versions of the E65 with a lengthened interior and a raised roofline, thereby making it look very odd. I think I have a picture somewhere if you want to see it.. I don't think the old L7 had a higher roofline, only an extension between the front and rear doors. I just love these one-off short limousines like the L7, Rolls-Royce Touring Limousine. I'm not that big on the full stretch limousines..

I can't seem to find the picture I had in mind, but nonetheless EBMCS03, here's some from a Russian vehicles site. I found the site using google a while ago when I searched for an extended version of the Mercedes S600L. The new BMW L7 will probably look like the car in the second link posted below. A lot of the stretched BMW 7-Series are build by Mutec from Germany. They have an extended version of the 760Li with a super-long door, I think it looks weird.

The picture I had in mind had both an extended body and higher roof, but I seem to have lost it. Anyway, I just think cars with even a slightly raised roof look awful. Actually, the E65 doesn't look half bad in some of the pictures, I particular like that car in the second link. It's the first time I've said that the E65 looks good, well maybe not good, but decent.
