did you also drive the 335i .... back to back i mean ??? any comparison please much appreciated
No, sorry, I just went straight for the diesel. I'm sure the 335i is also great, but I've been driving BMW diesels for 5 years now, and I suppose I'm hooked, and the latest M57 should be the best of the lot:

M57D30T2 210kW (285hp) @ 4400 and 580Nm @ 1750

Did you get a good trade in? (Or discount?)

Well, it's a little hard to say because we focused on the cost to change, and ordering a new car meant that the trade-in figure was for estimated mileage in December. I either got a pretty fair trade-in and no discount, or a small discount and a just acceptable trade-in.

I always wonder if I could have haggled harder, but in the end I got close enough to the prices (and trade-in quotes) offered by various online companies, but with the reassurance of dealing with a local BMW dealer rather than a somewhat unknown entity, so for me that was worth paying a little more.

If you can sell your car privately, then as a cash buyer you are always in a stronger postion, but for me that's never easy.

Well you're happy, that's the main thing! I'd agree with you about the reassurance...

I know no discounts are being offered through dealers on the 'new stuff'...

Cool - nice spec. I assume it's a Coupe since it has Star spoke 189 wheels? Good choice BTW.

I wonder how many E60.com members have been (or will soon be) seduced by the E92? :-)

I really hope that BMW put this new technology in the "facelift" E60 next March/April - the E60 is such a great car, and it would be a real shame if it didn't get the improved Steptronic and paddle shifts.

Hi. It is the coupe. Can't wait. The Audi is going tomorrow, will be glad to see the back of it!
