My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

or do you also think that the E46 is the last, true BMW's driver car?

I might actually have to agree with you.... I don't like the direction BMW is taking. Although the new cars are amazing, they don't have the robust look and feel they once did.

Of course I LOVE the E60, but in a different way.

Compared to the competition, no. Crash test requirements and market expectations on features and equipment are generally making cars heavier, with a consequential impact on agility and nimbleness, but compared to most other manufacturers (who face the exact same challenges) BMW still turns out some fine handling product. They're still the driver's choice in their segment.

E30 M3 - FTW!!!!! I still love that car, not much else compares to the simplicity and pure fun driving experience of the E30, I would get one happily.
