How do you make an E39 523i go faster?

My Ride: 535D Sport Auto
My friend has an E39 523i auto. Anybody have any ideas how to make it faster?
He understands you can fit: -
K & N induction kit
Inlet manifold and throttle linkage from old 525/325 (192 hp)
Remap ECU
Is there anything else he can do?
Please help
