get the 335 - one of my buddies has it and its amazing. also for some odd reason the 3 series don't seem to have as many issues as our e60's hence making them more reliable. But at the end of the day it should be about your preference (or in this case ur wifes' ). Good luck and post pics...

No wonder your engine ticks it's only got 4 cylinders... What you want Mike is the full fat 535d not the fully skimmed version you have now.

Best of luck with your final choice

I think the 335 convertible is one of the most beautiful cars in the BMW lineup if not one of the nicer looking rides of all cars out there. Very well designed. Get it!

Thanks for all the posts guys. Wow, I'm surprised to see most egging me on for the 335i! I would have thought that the majority would be like 'Hell no! Stick with a man's car and not a boy's toy' responses... I'm sure confused now.. hahahaha! My last holdout was 'wait until everyone tells me to stick with the E60' but that didn't work out... ahhaha

Personally, I really am satisfied with the E60's look. If the E60 model was only 1-2 years old, I'd get one right away -- perhaps a 535i. But seeing that the F10 is coming up, doesn't make sense for me to spend 100,000 bucks on a brandnew model going out in a while. The 335i hardtop on the other hand is supposed to be around for about 5 years so spending that kind of money will 'buy me the newest/nicest thing' makes more sense, right?

I buy and not lease so that's why I'm thinking more.......

Hmmmm.........

Sorry, Mike. I can't help AT ALL. I took my e60 in for a scheduled oil change yesterday and spent about 45 minutes drooling over the 335 coupes. I really don't need all this room, and I had a coupe before and liked it. In fact, this is the only sedan I've owned. I sat in a new 335 on the showroom floor and it's so nice. I had to get back to the office or I would have taken a test drive since the SA offered. Maybe this weekend.

Good luck with your decision.

Guys, I'm contemplating getting a 335i hardtop (or 330i) and checked it out at
my local BMW dealer's.... The wife wants a convertible and I am really getting
sick of my diesel 'tick-tick-tick' E60!! I would go for a gas E60 but with the new
F10 coming up, it doesn't make sense.

Talk me out of it!!!!
Keeping the wife happy is the smartest move. Or, you can just make it seem like the hardtop was her idea. That should be easy enough.

Problem solved!

Get the 335 and drive it for 3 years then get the F10 when most of the bugs are fixed
