yes im going to go with the x5 just have to do a little more as far as a diesel goes not that i know of.. would be nice to have thoe...
I've driven the X5 3.0d before and it has way more torque than the X5 3.0i... The 3.0d engine is ideal for the X5. If they have it in the U.S., get it!

Or you can get a second hand benz suv -=X the mls are going for relatively cheap prices, and its a pretty good suv. Or you can get the Acura MDX nice car value pricing. or maybe a ranger rover or range rover sport, those things are going for cheap !

Don't think you will be very happy with a Merc ML if you're now driving a 335i......
Is the x35i engine already available in the US? The 3,0i is good (better than most competitors), but not great (not enough low-end torque for such a heavy car).

Perhaps is an x6 an option (if you like the looks...)

I've read test reports and reviews regarding the X6 and I heard that it drives great, but not very practical as a wagon because of the sloped hatch.

I've driven it and it's indeed a great car. My girlfriend's uncle has a new Cayenne S with 21's and the x6 feels even more like a normal sedan than the Porsche.

The x6 that I drove was equiped with dynamic drive, and I think an x5 will drive quite similar to the x6 when both equiped with dynamic drive, altough the x6 has the DPC standard (not available for x5).

If your're leasing the car, wouldn't the x6 be nearly as expensive as the x5, 'cause of the higher resale value?

BTW, we have to pay around $170k for a loaded x6 35d. It should cost you a lot less....
