I need to pick between these two with auto transmission. Car wont be doing many miles so the economy argument is dead. The diesel is a new engine same as the 330d but with smaller turbo (I think) and different maps hence 197 bhp as opposed to 231. I am not sure which one would be a more pleasant drive. I believe the torquier diesel would have the edge in day to day driving and probably be better suited to the auto box but the petrol would have nicer sound and probably be more refined overall. I haven't driven a BMW petrol straight six in ages so I would appreciate your thoughts and input.

325d. More torque at lower revs.

well ive driven the 325d (e92) and one of the first 325i (e90 in june 2005, when daru got it)), and i would honestly say the petrol is much more fun to drive... if you are not very big on economy , then i recommend it !!!

downgrading ?

No, its for my mum. I only go up . What do you think of the 325d. How does it sound and go? It should be faster than the petrol innit

For some reason the 325d doesn't sound like the 330d. The changes they made has also changed the sound; it sounds much more "diesel" compared to the 330d so I'm not in favour of that particular specification. And, with the new 325i being a remapped 330i, and with the latest fuel reduction technology I see no real reason to opt for a diesel - apart from the torque at lower revs.

yes the car is quicker through the gears, and is quite a bit quicker in gear. You remember all the arguments about the 535d vs 545i... well its similar here. Both offer virtually the same performance, but in one its quite effortless, the other is more involving and more enjoyable (especially considering the 325i revs to 7000rpms).

The sound is quite muted compared to the 330d and is comparable to the old 330cd. It is more prone to rattle, but that may improve with mileage. the 325i i drove had 2300km on the clock. the 325d i drove was from sytner , and had about 160miles (nali sam v anglia).

BTW iska6 li da napravq kontakt s moja 4ovek v mcar ? ako da se vra6tam v bg na 14, i moga da probvam da pomogna za cenata ?

i went to pick a few parts over the weekend and a guy was picking up his new E92 335i. I can swear that the engine clatter was louder than my 520D.

Went for the 325i in space gray, the smoothness argument prevailed in the end. I have been driving an Opel Meriva 1.4 16v ENJOY! around Italy for the past week and that was pretty smooth too

p.s. 700700 mersi, bashta mi nameri niakakva vruzka v Mkar i vzehme dobra cena

If you drive a lot x25d, if less the x25i.
The x25d has a really low fuel comsumption.

Both now 3.0 litre engines.

In normal everydaydriving the 400 Nm is superiour to the 270 Nm.
