I was walking downtown today and saw six E90s on display in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art. Not sure why or how long they will be there but the display looked to be going up today for the first time.
My first BMW was a 2001 325Ci and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the new styling. It seems like the natural progression from the E46. It has an aggressive stance when seen head on and I also like the back end. The inside seems similar to the previous 3 series...simple layout and design. The Engine start/stop button looks cool. The Xenon headlight assembly is very nice. The angel eyes are two clear rings (not notched like the 5 series) that look like they'd shatter if you hit a pothole or a bump in the road of any substance. Although the new 3 series is bigger the inside still seemed a little small and would be a tight fit for four adults.
Overall I think the look of the E90 is outstanding. BMW took the styling to the next level and yet maintained the basic appearance of their very popular 3 series. Can't wait to see the coupe version!
If you are interested in seeing the E90 and you are in the Chicago area this weekend you should head over to the MCA at 220 E. Chicago.
