A sad, sad day in the history of the M Brand.

AWD, twin turbo, high center of gravity, 5000lbs - hardly the hallmarks of the M Brand.

BMW has screwed the pooch here - you expect these cars from AMG, but not M.

On the flip side, I would not mind at all having that much power.

Gonna go stand on the street corner now with a sign that says "Need money for X5M, please help"

Can we assume the up coming M5 will have a similar motor? If so, sounds good to me.

HAHAHA! That's perfect!

There's a guy that hangs out at San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf area with a sign that's very similar to that. Something like "need money for weed".

I think so. But I'm sure it can be tuned to 600 hp and more.

The 4.4 liter V8 seems to be one of the BMW standard engines blocks.

Others are the 3.0 L6 and the 2.0 L4.
