Thumbs up

Hello folks,

I picked up a liter of top up oil from my dealer, just to confirm what 5W30 oil they use.
I was handed the Castrol TXT LL04 5W30 : A3/B3/B4/C3 and API SL/CF
Packaging was Castrol, grey label with BMW endorsement.

I've also read that the Castrol SLX LL04 5W30 is the other approved oil.

Questions :

- WHat is the difference between the two?
- is one the replacement of the other, if so, which is the latest?
- the HTHS value for the TXT 5W30 is 3,5.....I cannot pick up the HTHS value for the SLX 5W30?
- Are both the TXT and SLX exclusively BMW dealer supplied or can they be purchased elsewhere?
- I've been on the castrol website for the UK. If I look at SLX 5W30 with BMW LL04 approval, the strange part is that the C3 rating is always missing, compared to the TXT. Can anybody explain this?

Thanks in advance for your response :-)

Brgds
