BMW will tomorrow present their newest concept car, the X1 at the Paris (France) Auto Show.

As 446 cm long (14.63) it's only 11 cm (about 4.5 inches) shorter than a X3 but 14 cm (about 6 inches) lower.

Engines starting from 2.0 liter gas and diesel up to 3.0 liter L6's.
The new BMW/M-B developed hybrid tech, shown in the new 7-series, will be available later on.

Production start in the fall 2009 as MY 2010 at the BMW Leipzig plant in Germany.

The car in the pics is in Meridiangold metallic and has 19 inch wheels.

Don't be so negative pinguhk,

Looks kind of neat to me and remember that the days of big thirsty cars are over.

I smart city/suburban car, I would say.

My God this is ugly. I'm sorry. This is a cross between Volvo and Hyundai Santa Fe? Plain barf.

I'm right there with you Alex First thoughts that came to mind was "Hyundai" and "Santa Fe".

The X3 is a success in Europe. So this will only be a bit smaller, but wider.

It's a BMW - huge difference compared with Volvo or VW not the mention the Korean/Japanese cars.

I'm liking the look of that concept. To me it seems to be 'right' sized. I know for my lifestyle the VW Tiguan?, Subaru Forester, BMX X1? size/type vehicle offer a lot of practicality and appeal.
