Hey there, KD here. New to the forum and could use a little help! I have a 07 650i e63 with the dreaded 004F81 code. When It comes up I can unplug battery or reset codes, then drives just fine until I have to stop suddenly, then the transmission malfunction light appears again. I have had no transmission problems until I recently replaced the Ivm due to a valvetronic code I was getting. Noticed a faint electronic smell but idk if it's related, which is why I changed ivm. Also have a random knock sensor code that comes and goes. That valvetronic problem went away immediately and now I have this new code. I went through a little water so I figured it could be wheel speed sensors, replaced 3 of those (were gunked up) as well as crankshaft sensor on trans housing. I'm thinking it's electronic and would like some advice on tracking down the problem before I open the trans and start replacing solenoids and sleeves since I've never had any trans issues up to this point. At my wits end any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
