Hi,
Looking for all your opinions for my friend (I recommended him 530i but he wants to hear several opinions as well) decision on his next car

335i $49750 (MSRP, they are selling $1k above dealer invoice)
sports package
premium package
automatic with paddles
comfort access
shades
iPod/USB adapter
heated front seats
navigation with idrive

530i $53170 (MSRP, and they are bargaining out of these old 07 models)
premium package
automatic
navigation

With that 530i in stock and priced very close to that 335i he configured, 530i may be a good choice, but we want to hear more opinions from you all...

So, that 335i or 530i?

Thanks guys

The 530i is by far a better car. He can also get an 06 530i for around 40k with less than 20k miles. The advantages are: Somebody else has taken the initial depreciation and you have 6yrs/100k warranty as CPO instead of 4/50k.

Do you have family? Is it going to be a family car? If no, get 335. If yes, get 530. When we didn't have children, I drove M3. Now 5er looks like a better choice unless I am willing to drive wife's car on family trip (which I'd rather not )

+1. If I were looking for 530i I would have bought 06 CPO. Unfortunately, there are not that many well equipped 06 530xi CPO available

Only buy the E90 strictly for the more horsepower. Get the E60 for better luxury, nicer styling.

I'd go for 335i with all gadgets and power. If you have two kids or less, it's OK. The 335i is still a good 4-door to haul 4 people w/o issue.

I would go for the 530i. No doubt, if you on the other hand was concerdering the e92 335 I would pick that one.

As Batman outlined, unless you are a performance addict, a 530i will be a more satisfying ride on a daily basis.

If your friend is above average size, the 3 will be too confining.
