I seem to remember when the 1 was launched that there was talk of a 2 door coupe and cabriolet version to be badged a 2 series, was this just a possible or is it going to happen and if so does anyone know when

Autocar reported some months back that the "2-er" & "4-er" badges will be dropped - but 2 door coupe versions of both the 1-er & the upcoming 3-er are planned.
i am looking forward to the 3.0L six-cylinder R6 alloy engine on a coupe version of the 1 series. i think it will strongly draw on & pickup where the BMW 2002 of the oldays left off - i am very sure it will be driver's car.

I think maybe BMW is going to stick with the term "Ci" for the coupes... <_<
