i agree that this is way overpriced for the size of this car, it should be priced atleast $10K difference from e90-92 to make it worth while, it is tiny for goodness sake, great for a train station car, but not very useful
1-series main luxury competitor in the US is the Audi A3.
135i - $34,900
A3 3.2 - $34,915
Much greater performance over the A3, for a slightly lower base price. Pricing looks just right to me. It is not as tiny as you may think.

I don't see anything wrong with the pricing, wishful thinking by many. Most people estimated the 135i msrp around $35,000 and it is.

and Im not one to consider any A3 or 1series as a lux or sports lux car...these are lux cars like the mini is a lux car...they are little cars to fit niche markets, this car needs to understand who will be its target market, and any one who would consider this for the most part in the US (hint boyracers usually in civic or wrxs, etc) would be way priced out by this (other than those like myself that look at it as a potentially fun, 2nd or 3rd car used as a railstation car) ...there would be no reason to buy this over the E90/92 for the pricing difference as currently offered..

Those standard features on the 135i are so tempting, M-tech kit, M-tuned suspension, and especially the big brembo brakes. I also like all the m-trim on the sport package, steering wheel, gear shifter, etc...
Right now I am leaning towards the 135i, it seems more sport oriented.

I see A3's all the time in Cali.
You will see plenty of 135i's, they are going to sell in good numbers.
And yes the 135i is a great alternative to the E92 335i. It is $5900 cheaper and has better performance, and more performance options standard.
FYI: The 135i is not that much smaller than the 335i.

Besides the influx of trade ins of the 528,525,545,328,330 when the 335 and 535 came out. now you'll see brand new 335's sitting in the used car lots, all in the span of a year. First time buyers will have a very nice selection of cars for 40G's

Tell her to get the E92. The 1-series is ugly. ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/rolleyes.gif)

But after going to the auto show and seeing Audi's booth, it was packed with people. I think I am seriously considering the A5, its absolutely beautiful inside and out.

From what I have heard the price sheet by the 135i at the LA auto show, was the base price plus dest. charge ($35,675).
Here is the option sheet, with the base price. page 1 (128i), page 2(135i)
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2439
The 135i is also at the SF auto show, it is in Jet Black, it looks very good in dark colors. Words cannot explain how bad the sedona red color looks, it is the worst color they could have chosen to release the car in.

lol the lady's reaction in the 6th pic is obviously to the pricing!

The 1-series styling reminds me of the E36 318's. The back end looks too squashed. I'm sure they'll look pretty good with a few cosmetic mods, but just not my cup of tea.
