My Ride: 06 BMW 550i, 07 530i
Model Year: 2006
Engine: N62
Your to-be-favorite impulsive vehicle spender.
What's up guys. New to this forum (just found out about this) but have been driving 5 series BMWs since I got my license.
I learned to drive on my dad's e39 528i, where I destroyed his clutch.
When I was 16, I got all my glass-jar money and went out and bought myself a 6 speed e60 530i. Loved every second of it until the DISA valve fell to shambles and the valve shaft succumbed to the vacuum of the intake, lodging itself in the intake valve on cylinder #6. This was a year after purchase. Still haven't fixed it. After repair, she's running with a head gasket that leaks its way out onto the exhaust manifold, which emits a beautifully disappointing white smoke as the murky liquid drips its way onto the finger-burn pipes and puts up a smoke screen.
On June 10th, I graduated from high school.
On June 11th I went and bought myself an 06 550i 6 speed, where I'm getting ready to do all of the woefully stupid N62 maintenance subjects. Included, but never limited to: Valve stem seals, alternator bracket gasket, and all the gaskets in between.
Had to gift myself with pain for graduation.
What are yall driving? Would love to get to know the forum.
