My Ride: Just another gutless E39 525iT
Default Traitorous C63 owner returns to the fold

Hey Guys,

After owning a few bimmers I wanted some torque, so I got a C63 and went bananas with it for a while. But, as with all project cars, the mods got out of control and I needed a reliable daily to replace it while we get the bugs sorted out. So I bought a 165,000 mile 2001 E39 525iT off a friend's mom. Kinda rough cosmetically, but well maintained with a really nice interior. After the Benz gets back to reliable I'm going to have some fun upgrading the wagon, but for now, I'm keeping it simple:

So far I replaced the headlights (the factory units were pretty hazy), made 13.5mm spacers (I'm a machinist), and lowered it with a set of Eibach springs for the front and custom links in the rear. I also Plasti-Dipped the beltline trim black . I do have an M5 replica bumper I'm going to put on, but that's it for the cosmetics.

For now, she's just another great, gutless daily driver.

Josh

Looks like a winner, especially for a DD.

Yeah, thanks! She's slow as cold molasses compared to a supercharged C63, but she can haul all my shop stuff around and goes completely unnoticed by the cops and the hood rats.
