Great Forum, this. I'm looking forward to getting to know others with a common interest here.

A little about me and my motor: I bought the car from Blue Bell BMW in WIlmslow - I'm no stranger to Bimmers but this was my first 5. Not ideally specced (as you'll get to know) but I fell in love with it and am delighted. It's gorgeous. You see lots of black leather interiors, but I love the Beige Dakota contrasting with the dark headling, carbon black paint and the Dark Poplar Trim really adds a nice touch.

I want to do a few things to it, following my fitting of the diesel tuning box (spider), which I had re-set from my previous car. It's a fairly new addition, and I'm in the process of getting the settings to be optimal. I went through this process previously, and was really impressed with the results. I'll write more about this as it happens, but I'm getting 10% better fuel and a silly amount of power. I need to turn it down a little. I don't want to come across as a boy racer, because I'm not. I don't drive it stupidly, and benefit from increased flexibility and better fuel. That said.... flippin eck! It rocks!

I've yet to get to grips with everything on the features side of things - Prof Nav is good, DAB is superb. I'd love a decent iPod interface but may just stick to the aux in given the differing reports that I've read. The Bluetooth is remarkable - as good (if not better) than any other "car kit" I've had.

Seats are a bit of a problem, though. I have the leather sports seats, but only the standard part electrics. I'd like adjustable lumbar and heat - ideally comfort seats. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone that can help. I'll post an open question.

So - that's a little about the car. I'm 43, a family man. I play a little golf to an encouraging standard and a lot more to a pretty dismal excuse for a shot standard too.

I look forward to chatting.
