Hey everybody! Just registered and am posting for my first time. I have been reading this board since before the e60 was released just never really got around to registering... that is until now... now that I finally had a chance to order my own e60.
I must say, you all have very intriguing ideas, interesting photos, and you all have helped me in one way or another deciding about where to finally end up with my next "baby".
Just a lil info about my auto ownership history
: I have always been a 5 series junkie since the start of my "hand-me-down" 1988 535i. In 1999, I sold my 535i & I purchased a 540is. Tuned it with DINAN mods, enjoyed her for over 100k miles and set her free just last month (March 2005). I also purchased a pre-owned 520ia which I use in Greece during the summer months. In May of 2004, I picked up an X5 3.0 and ocntinue to drive it daily. Well the real reason I am excited about joining this board is because I ordered a 2006 530xi.
After countless eye-straining
hours spent reading literally almost every post on this board I decided to go with a 530xi with its new 3.0 liter engine. My old 540i came stock with 282hp and I tuned it to over 310hp, but my X5 runs with the 225hp 3.0 motor and I must say, its plenty for me at this stage, so I can imagine what the 255hp motor will be like. I also decided to get the car pretty much fully loaded even though I could have had a 545i with the money I am putting forth for my 530xi. That decision was also another that I formulated some benefits from this board and others. I figured if the power is more than enough for me now, and the car looks essentially the same, why not get the full deal and be happy with it at a somewhat more afforadable and reasonable price than with the v8.
Anyhow, enough of my storytelling
, I just wanted to thank you all for all the help and I will keep updating my car's order status.
