Hey fellow E60ers,

Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm from the Pacific NW, am 31 years old, and am a Realtor. I just got my 545i about two weeks ago, certified used. Has most options, plus tint and 18" chromes. I've been lurking on bimmerforums.com for about a year - since buying my first BMW, an '04 325i. This looks like an excellent forum you have here, and I will look forward to conversing w/ you all.

I love the new Five, minus an issue that I've been dealing with. The car shakes somewhat at all speeds. It's been at the dealer for three days. Les Schwab told me that my tires are worn and cupped - but BMW service says they're fine. Not sure if they really believe that or just don't want to replace my tires. Balance has been checked & is fine. I'm getting pretty frustrated. I'd much rather have my new baby than my POS loaner X3.

Pics attached of the new fella.

Welcome.

This might help you with your tire problem IF the tires are the orignal Dunlop SP Sport 1 DSST.

Thanks for the great attachment. I'm not sure what tires are on my car, though I don't think they're run flats because I do have the trunk spare. I think the previous owner put them on when they bought the new wheels.

All U.S. spec e60 have a spare.

How many miles are on your car? People have gotten anywhere from 8K to 22K on a factory set of tires depending on driving style. From the pictures your wheels look like Style 124 which are standard on 545( Minus the chrome). So the previous owner either had the factory wheels refinished of traded them for replicas of the real thing. If the mileage is low enough I'd bet they are the original tires.

23K miles on car, so I can't imagine they're the original tires. The front tires look okay, the rear tires show some wear on the inside of the pattern.

I will certainly look into whether/not they're run flats (and especially the model# you speak of). Thanks again, I appreciate your help.
