Hey guys sorry if this post might be a tad long I will try to condense as much as possible. First off my names Ryan I live in Virginia beach, VA so far I have had 3 cars and until now always japanese, my first was a 2004 TL which I loved then in 2007 I upgraded to the TL Type S and that car I loved the most even though it was FWD it managed to have great steering and pretty fun handling and the looks and size were just right and I had a passion for that car (washed it obsessively, paranoid about it 24/7)I was hooked on Acura's.
Then came the 2009 redesign of the TL, TSX, etc.. and Acura totally lost me not only were they ugly but my former TL type S was the perfect size now the TL looks as long as a freakin town car, so in mid 2010 I traded my Type S for a G37 sedan and while obviously the handling was alot better than FWD it never invoked the passion the TL-S did although it is relatively fun to drive hard.
So about a month ago I went to CarMax and stumbled upon a black/black 08 550I sport with just about every option and before even leaving the parking lot for the test drive I was in love with the steering, throttle, brake feel plus all the complaints out on the web about the E60 interior are lost on me the interior seemed very high quality and the seating position was perfection in book, needless to say the actual rest of the test drive only made me fall in love even more, I am not a fan of the F10 5 series from a design standpoint so I would like to go with the E60 but the one I test drove had 67k on it and that just seemed like too much so while searching auto trader I stumbled upon this, a 550I 2010 that was apparently never sold My link wanted to know what you guys think of buying a 2 year old new car? can this be a good thing and is it possible to work that price down?
Last but not least for some of you modders, I spotted a black 550I last weekend with the BMW powdercoated black wheels, blacked out grille, cleared headlights and taillights plus the m5 spoiler, roof spoiler, and m5 exhaust too me it looked beautiful but do you guys think that is too tacky on a 70k car?
Thanks for listening and hope to be a member very soon, I am going to ask my local dealer to get me more info on that particular 550I and if I can make a deal I will get it brought here and get it!
P.S. The one I test drove was black interior with matching black headliner, but this one says brown leather to the guys here that own one with the brown how does it look? more orange or beige? I cant tell from online photos too well.

Most of our cars look like that so no we don't think it's tacky. This is a heavily modded forum here for e60's so there are a ton of people to get advice from. I would suggest getting the modded car if you like it, just make sure to have it checked out bc it's not all about looking good. I'm not a big of the f10's either, plus that car is now 70k but will be 30k in about 4 years, I don't buy anything new bc they depreciate too quick. Good luck

Welcome - hope you find the car of your dreams. That said, it's not too unusual to find an unsold 2010 e60. That said, the one on that website seems a bit pricey - in a month or two, when the 2013 5 series are on the lot, it'll be 3 "model years" old.

It all depends on your purposes - the M5 would be a rough daily driver due to the maintenence/gas mileage. A 550, not so much.
Congrats on the future purchase, I just bought my 535, and certainly have no problem w/a CPO'd car.
