Default New member, New to me 525I - SoCal

Good Morning everyone! I'd like to take the moment out to introduce myself. My names Joel. Recently received a 2004/5 BMW 525I 6spd from my brother in law. Well kept w/ 140k Miles. It was given to me on the premise that if I could get it back running, I could have it. $500 in, I drove off w/ the pink slip. No major plans for it at this time. I'd just like to throughly catch up w/ the maintenance to keep it rolling nice and solid.

- Joel

to the forum, Joel! Sounds like a great deal to me. What was wrong that only $500 fixed it?

Now your gonna laugh, Clutch switch, registration, smog, and the one that sealed the deal a new battery! LOL.

Welcome to 5 Series, Joel! Not a bad deal! Glad it was a simple fix and you got a whole car for it. If you ever need anything be sure to let me know. Enjoy!

HAHA Agreed. Thanks I will definitely keep you guys in mind.

Update: Now at 149K. The car still runs awesome. I do believe it's in need of an alignment, and front LCA's. I also have 2 Cel codes for bank 1 ( P0171 ) and bank 2 ( P0174 ) too lean. Hopefully it's the easy fix after a quick google hunt.

The car did need some new tires, the wife was itching for an upgrade. After a week or 2 of fitment hunting, wheel hunting, being in a time crunch, and deals, the wife decided to go with Zedd SLT's in vacuum chrome. Thanks to our friends at 88Rotors who made this happen. We weren't going fro any crazy style, fitment or look. Just something nice. I am prod to say car rides like stock. Only minor front rubbing on huge dips.

Specs:
19x9.5 +22 F 10mm Ichiba Spacer and Extended studs
19x9.5 +22 R ( will add 10mm after alignment if it doesn't look square enough afterwards. )
Achilles ATR Sport 245/40/19 F
Achilles ATR Sport 2 245/40/19 R

BEFORE

INBETWEEN. ( after test fitting the rim itself, commonly touching the strut casing, they ordered us 10mm spacers and extended studs. I went to eat, got a car wash. By the time I came back everything was ready to go.
