I've been reading the forums for a while and signed up a few weeks ago.
I'm on my second 5-car, a 2005 545i, silver, black interior, 6-speed manual, sport package, heated seats, nav, bluetooth, etc. Only mods are the Dinan CAI and Stage 1 software. RPi scoops have been ordered. I guess you could say the mod bug has bitten me, so maybe that list will expand a little more.
My last 5-car was a 2002 530i. It (and I) met with a Charlotte city bus on the way home one night a little over a year ago (bus ran a red light and T-boned me in the driver's side... ). I'd post photos, but fear it might induce a few heart attacks. I don't like looking at the photos, and take a different route home now. I feel very lucky after that night, and have been thankful I was driving such a well-made vehicle.
I opened the door and walked away, not a scratch...car was built like a tank but drove like a sportscar. I had to get another 5, and I found the new one a month or so later...driving it off the lot was up there with the happiest moments in my life, especially after having driven a rental for a month .
Previous rides: 1998 Audi A4 2.8 quattro 5-speed (really fun car...put nearly 200,000 miles on it...one clutch, nary an engine problem...electronics eventually gave way); 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass; 1985 Dodge Ram pickup (dad's old truck...we called it "New Blue" to differentiate from his old, old truck)
