Thanks for the welcome guys,
Centurion; The mod bug has already bitten -- rear spoiler, proclip center armrest mount/audiovox DVD, passport hardwired, Wheels and M aero will be harder to get past the CFO
Cobradav; Yes I can see the end of the earth from here, only a few miles from Point Lookout.
Rudy: I don't mind advertising a little for people who take care of me.

Hi all, been lurking since March.? I traded my 03 M3 conv for my 545 in may and can't stop driving it.? My daily driver is getting jellous.? But now that gas prices have gone up I don't feel so bad for my Chevy Avalanche(15Mpg vs. 22Mpg for the 545).
I haven't seen anything better than 17.

BMW lists a 17/25 (city/highway) miles per gallon on the 545i. Now that was for the automatic transmission. For manual and SMG you lose 1 mile per gallon, thus, 16/24.
Take me for example. I've got a manual shifter:
On a full tank (18.5 gallons), I can drive 297 miles.
Simple math: 297 miles / 18.5 gallons = 16.05 miles per gallon
So, according to BMW's calculations, I'm right where I'm expected to be...which is...at the fucking gas station twice a week.
