Well, found the forum when looking for info on the navigation system. Looks good, and am interested to read more about my new car. I'm lucky enough to live very near (3 mins drive) to the German Autobahn with no speed limit and lot's of free asphalt ahead.

didn't like the last model but this one is really good.

Looking forward to find out how to edit settings even the dealer hasn't heard of like I used to do with the Passat's computer.

first irritations of this car?
- no cupholders up front and no place to put a pen and keep it in place (see next point)
- storage not performance-ready (accellerate and everything falls out)
- I-drive, no: you drive, I figure out which menu to find to find what I wanted to find but forgot while trying to find it.....

good stuff?
- everything else
- smooth and easy to 240 on the speedo
- why brake for turns?
- it's quiet inside at any legal speed

... and I'm jealous ... I have to drive just over an hour to get to the autobahn. Got any pics of your new ride?

Welcome to the forum, what's your location in Germany? I'm in Bavaria.

Thanks for the welcomes, here's a picture of my car.

My autobahns are mostly in Nordrhein-Westfalen, so not as nice as in Bavaria but still.... Today again cruising at 180Kmh and touching 240 on the speedo. No stress, just a thunder outside....

It's funny how other cars appear pre-historic when you drive this one: a touch and you pass anyone, a touch of the wheel and you take turns without changing speeds.

Still, the lack of cupholders up front is simply stupid. Asked and looked in other similar cars and found them overpriced and not deep enough for a serious cup of coffee or coke.
So I'll make my own.

DTC errors are fixed, but haven't been able to keep myself from correcting the rear breaking out. To see what the system does with that when I don't was the aim, but now I still don't know.

A bunch of I-drive menu irritations:
- touch the phone button on the steering wheel and it starts calling without showing who you called last
- adding an intermediate waypoint is pretty hopeless: you can't choose a real address, only some points along the current rout
- a direct button to get to the navi-arrow would be nice: now you have to push and turn a lot to get to that after you turned on the radio for example
- radio station names are not all shown in the list (EU radios have RDS that sends the radio station name, usefull but only if the car would update the list properly
- get into the car, phone connects but you'll have to go through menu's to get to the list of names (ABC) as it starts in dial-your-own-number mode which is pretty impossible to do by I-drive while driving (and when not)
- can't jump to the route-list while in arrow screen mode

and so on.....

But the drive is fine, just turn off the screen and go for it.....
