My Ride: 2010 535xit
Default Michigan Newbie 2010 535xit Cream Puff

Hey everyone!

Bill here, diving in head first with my first BMW and first wagon.

I have friends with 528, X3 and X5 models who've all been pretty happy so far, so I took a relatively uneducated leap into this new rig. Knew a little about the wagons and have always like the idea of a sporty-utilitarian daily driver. I'm in sales for my career and travel a lot, so I was very excited to find this one locally and bought it 5 hours after it was listed on Craigslist.

Its a very gently driven 2010 535xi, impeccable maintenance and rarely driven much in the winter. Still smells new. 52k miles and included a full set of like new winter wheels and tires. $20k. I bought an Infiniti G37x Coupe last year and it just didn't have enough room to really carry my work and pleasure items.

Love the BMW ride and overall feel. It exudes quality and the car really drives like new. After buying it and reading about all the potential issues with this generation, my excitement has been tempered considerably. Thankfully, the owner had strong service records that show everything was done that should have been.

I'm still going to worry about Turbos and the Transmission. Break flushes every 20k miles? Transmission drain and fill at 60k miles? As a long-time Toyota owner, those are new ideas, but if it keeps this thing running up past 150k miles without breaking my bank account over the next 2-3 years with this kind of ride and style, I'll be happy.

Hope to learn alot from you guys, including how to get the bluetooth to stream music.

Pics to follow.

I've got a heavily modified FJ Cruiser. Didn't really think of this as a car I'd do much modding to. Is there stuff I *need* to do?

Great looking rig. "Faux" M5 Touring?

What kind of power are you making with tuning package?

It has the M spirit, let's put it that way ;-)

MHD must be making about 90 hp on Stage 1 and 93 oct and a few more with the DCI and TBS. Last time I checked I managed 4.6 sec 0-60 and 13.3 in the 1/4. Not the fastest around but not slow either.
I highly recommend MHD, inexpensive and very effective.
