My Ride: 2006 550i w/sport package, comfort access, nav, cold weather package, rear heated seats, pdc
Hi, I'm Mike. I just acquired an '06 550i with 60,000 miles over the weekend. What an absolutely sweet car this is. I cannot believe that I'm so lucky to own such a car. Gush. Gush. It's black with sport package, comfort access, premium sound, premium package, nav, cold weather package, heated rear seats and all the BMW goodness that comes with it! I'm so jazzed.
I spent a lot of time surfing this forum (and bimmerfest) before deciding to pull the trigger on the 5. I'd been considering an '00 SL500 and an '03 E500. Then I drove the 550 and just fell in love. My best friend had suggested I look at the 5 series, a 530 in particular. I did drive one and liked it, but it didn't seem that special (no offense to the owners of 530is). It was rather lightly equipped. I was looking for more luxury. When the 550 I bought showed up at a local dealer my wife and I went and test drove it. After an extended drive, my wife said to buy it. Boy, is SHE a keeper. I'd been looking for another car for quite a while and we both just fell head over heals for the BMW.
It's got a couple minor issues which my indy mechanic indicates are not going to be terribly expensive (by BMW standards) to fix and otherwise it has checked out clean. I can't wait to take a road trip.
Did I say I love this car?

No offense taken on the 530 remarks, I love mine, the only replacement would be an M5. Welcome to the forum, you're wife better be a keeper because you have now entered the modding abyss, she will rarely see you, your car, or the checkbook again, enjoy

First up is a set of 17s and snow tires. This isn't going to be a garage queen. BMWs are meant to be driven, and I just love drifting sideways in the snow. Otherwise, I'm not going to do much in the way of mods. That leaves more money for gas!
And thank you, I'm glad to be here.
