New here, looking to get an E60 sometime next year to replace a modded GTI. Will have to drive a few and decide between a 530 and 545.

Great site!

Welcome! Be prepared to spend more than just the price of the car, modding is an expensive hobby. But you probably know that.

My intent is to leave it mostly stock. In modding the VW I have a better looking, quicker car that's louder and less comfortable. I expect a bone stock E60 to exceed the performance of my VW, so why mod it and lose the comfort? Having said that, wheels, chips, ipod adapters, hard wired V1's, etc. have a way of happening!

OK it took a couple years, but I got one! 2004 545, 6MT of course, sport, L7, Orient Blue over tan. The previous (second) owner installed a Sprintbooster. I'll need to add a Dension G500 and a Sirius tuner, but Blizzaks on 17s will have to come first. Now that I gave it a polish and a wax the weather went to crap; I'll take some photos after I wash it again.

So far it has exceeded my expectations. Rides like a Lexus, goes like a Mustang GT, handles better than my old lowered GTI. I'm in love!
