My Ride: '07 530iSport PackageLuxury Packagemore to come
Default

Last week I picked up an '07 530i in dark Silver with gray interior. The car has both Sport and Luxury packages. I came from an E36 M3 so it is quite a change but so far I am enjoying the car. The hardest part to get used to is the extra size and weight. It does take some adjustment driving an automatic too. This is the first car I've ever owned with an auto. I had done a lot of modification to the M3 so it's a completely different world in the handling and ride departments. I seriously doubt I will do any suspension mods to this car. The only thing that is appealing to me right now is a Mtech or M5 style body kit. I don't want to rice the car up though. I can't wait to get rid of these run flats, grip is OK, turn in same but they sure are noisy. What do most of you guys run instead of the run flats?
I'm sure I will come up with lots of questions so I hope you guys can help out the newbies on the forum.

I got a pair of Contis currently residing on my hind wheels - adequate for an all-season tire, but I'd go with something edgier if I lived in a drier/warmer climate.

I too have an '07 530xi. I switched from the OEM Bridgestone RFTs on 18" wheels to General UHP on CSL reps. I didn't want to go up to 19" and lower profile tires because of the bad roads in our local area. The xi wheel offsets will limit your choices/options - but the choice of tires is plentiful. You must be feelin the difference in power and handling coming from an M3 to the heavier, all-wheel-drivetrain drag, and more softly sprung 530xi.

Let us know how that's going for you ... I've been missing my V-8 for months!

Welcome and enjoy. There are a lot of different tires being used by forum members. You may want to check some sigs and ask directly as it will depend on where you live, how you drive, etc.
