Hi All,
Im new here, and ive just collected my latest car. Ive owned 5 other BMW's in the past, 2x e39 540i saloons and 2x e39 540i tourers, and an E36 M3 evo, all of which ive loved, but have now returned to BMW with my Diesel from the marque, after a near 5 year absence . My newest addition is my E61 535d Sports Tourer. A fantastic bit of kit it is too. However I have suffered the (seems) common panoramic roof problem where it gets stuck open at the rear. I took my car to a BMW dealer today, and they closed the roof for me free of charge, and dissabled the switch so it cant be opened for now. The fix for this problem would set me back over £2000 according to BMW. However a quick browse around this site, and I found that this problem is a bit more common than BMW would have me believe, and I will be carrying out the modification on my roof as per the posting on this site.. Brilliant, been a member for less than a day, and have already saved myself £2k.
Not many modern cars make me smile when I drive them, but im beeming with my beemer now, and I never thought I would say that about a diesel !
I am 43 y/o and live in Hampshire UK, and am a father of 2.
I love old cars, and also own (hopefully without fear of riddicule) a 1987 3 door Ford Sierra RS Cosworth, with low miles and in 'as new' condition..Yes another proper drivers car..
Regards
Mark
